Cool shit on no budget: managing projects on the micro/DIY-scale
Saturday 12.09 at 12:00 • Nano Nagle Conference Room • Free
First Part:
Elisa Beli Borrelli to present a talk on DIY Filmmaking.
Elisa will discuss their work, breaking down their projetcs to its moving parts, analyzing every aspect of production from the perspective of each department - where each department was, in this case, made by the same one person. The talk will then pivot towards observing how even under these circumstances, where the film was made in isolation by one person, the film is still a result of somewhat of a collective effort: the input of friends, professionals and community members; the support shown by loved ones; the research done standing on history's shoulder; all of these elements contribute to the making of a film, even when technically there's only one person leading the show.
Second Part:
Niall Sulcer to present a talk on navigating small teams and streamlining production.
The talk will open with a presentation that will focus on the human side of managing a schedule: making sure that relations between the few members of a small team are taken care of to ensure there's no miscommunication nor friction. It will hone in on examples of how to handle conflict not only from a production perspective, but from a fully-rounded mindful perspective that specialises in looking after one another even when resources are limited.
